Tarot in the modern world?

Surely Tarot cards are some dinosaurs left over from old times, when magical, mystical and religious had way more impact on human life. But especially now, in the era of communication, technology and science, Tarot again finds its place among other “alternative sciences”. Our life style with our busy tempo hardly allows us to sit back and relax, to reflect on our life, to rethink and better understand why are we not as happy as we could be, or why do we come across the same problem over and over again, or why are we super successful in one field but totally terrified of some other, …
This is where Tarot comes in.
Subconsciously we will pick a card, or a combination of cards that compose a greater picture, which carries a message for us. Thus Tarot opens a small window to our conscious and subconscious mind. It helps us to better know and understand ourselves; in a way it acts like a mirror where some things might appear clearer and all of a sudden make much more sense. It helps to better understand a particular situation we found ourselves in; showing different perspectives, forcing us to reconsider the entire situation from a different point of view. Sometimes it indicates eventual problems and opportunities we never took notice of or perhaps even ignored subconsciously or on purpose.
Tarot cards can even show one possible future. The picture they show is usually “the most probable future”. After all, we are rational, thinking beings with freedom of choice; the future depends on our decisions and actions alone. But life itself is full of surprises …
